Dip die is one look I have been intrigued by, but I highly doubt I would attempt this look in the near future. I'm rather particular and would need a hair stylist who I'm 1000% confident with in order to match the right colours.

What difference would the colour make? You wear hair extensions. It's obviously not your real hair.
